|
|
Clocking in once again at a maximum 250.75 lines of code, I have created another multiplayer map. This time its the upper 3/4 of the Frigate.
-PJ64 - TESTED AND WORKING
-CONSOLE - TESTED AND WORKING
-2, 3, or 4 players (framerates suffer w/4 players)
-5 weapon sets
-2 body armors
-5 respawns
-6 swinger doors
-2 locked doors
-The Euro Chopper
-Frigate Square Pack Rocket Launcher
-Several portal kills (the very top of the ship) for framerate improvement and minimization of blackouts
I had wanted to add several more objects - like the frigate turrets, but I just plain ran out of available code space.

That looks really cool, BMW.
I also think the Beta name for the Frigate 'La Fayette' serves it well.
When I get a chance, I'll check her out on PJ64. _________________

I don't know why, but after I put this code on Project64, suddenly the game crashes when the level loads. This happens to every gameshark multiplayer levels. What should I do to make it work? |

Did you split it into various codes? There's a limit to amount per code entry. Maybe it's 100? |

I've not tried this, since I don't like N64 emulators (even when I finally get one working, it's too glitchy to be enjoyable), so can someone please summarize how this is different from the Frigate in Goldeneye X, please?
Also, if the differences are substantial, then would it be possible to port this to GEX, please? I rarely get to play other people in Goldeneye, so Goldeneye X is ideal since it has (such great) bots. |

This was BMW's version of a multiplayer Frigate, designed to be played on console or emulator with GameShark. He utilized some outside areas, but killed certain portals to improve framerate in those locations. The one found in GEX (and my GE map pack) was done by me, and had a lot of optimization done to boost performance. There are no exterior rooms in mine, however. This one could be used in GEX, though it would need the setup ported over, and minor adjustments made to the full level background file and clipping, plus the AI path network included / updated. Not a ton of work, if you know what you're doing. _________________

Some gs codes work on emulator and not on console. Also SADLY it seems gamesharks aren't always reliable on keeping or even LOADING a level. They weren't really made to redesign an entire game. It was only meant to be a cheat device. We were VERY lucky to get memory editting features to get where we are today. Sorry it's being so honory! MultiX |

I see, thanks.
BTW, it will be great when CEN64 (the upcoming, 100% accurate N64 emulator) is finally released, as I imagine that will be 100% compatible with the real world Gameshark, so hackers can finally test and be sure that a Gameshark code (or mod, like GEX) works identically on a real N64 and on an emulator (well, one emulator; CEN64). |
